Addressing a high-level UN Security Council meeting on the Middle East, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the situation in Gaza has become a graveyard for humanity and that the international community can no longer delay decisive steps. He urged the UNSC and OIC to act jointly to secure an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire. Dar warned of a spiralling humanitarian catastrophe—famine, mass displacement and daily civilian casualties—and called for unhindered aid access and the lifting of the blockade to allow life-saving assistance. He reiterated Pakistan’s support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital of a sovereign Palestinian state. “The time for words has passed,” he said, pressing for accountability for violations of international law and for a concrete mechanism to protect civilians. He added that Pakistan would continue advocating for justice and durable peace in coordination with Muslim-majority countries and international partners.
