Gold prices moved higher across Pakistan on Wednesday, reversing part of the previous session's decline as the domestic bullion market followed an increase in international rates. The benchmark price for one tola of gold reached Rs462,936 after gaining Rs800 during the day, putting precious-metal prices back on an upward track after Tuesday's retreat.

The price of 10 grams of gold also increased, reaching Rs396,893 after a rise of Rs686. The domestic rates were issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, whose benchmark quotations are closely followed by bullion dealers, jewellers and consumers across the country.

International gold prices strengthened at the same time. The global bullion rate advanced by $8 to $4,404 per ounce, meaning both the Pakistani and international markets moved higher during Wednesday's trading. The parallel increase followed a period of sharp day-to-day movements in precious-metal prices as market participants continued monitoring changing international conditions.

Silver also recorded a notable increase in Pakistan. Its price rose by Rs72 to Rs7,141 per tola, extending Wednesday's upward movement beyond gold and providing another indication of firmer precious-metal quotations during the session.

The latest increase comes just one day after gold had dropped by Rs1,000 per tola to Rs462,136. Wednesday's Rs800 recovery therefore erased most, but not all, of Tuesday's decline. The benchmark remains Rs200 below the level implied before Tuesday's fall, highlighting how rapidly local bullion quotations have been shifting from one session to the next.

The higher rate has an immediate impact on people entering the bullion and jewellery market because the benchmark cost of the same quantity of gold is now higher than it was a day earlier. For savers holding physical gold, jewellers managing inventories and households planning purchases, the latest move adds another short-term price change to factor into buying and selling decisions.

Pakistan's gold market remains closely connected with international bullion movements, and Wednesday's rise occurred alongside the $8 increase in the global per-ounce price. The next direction will depend on subsequent international trading and the fresh domestic benchmark rates issued by the market association. Buyers and traders will therefore be watching whether the recovery continues or whether another reversal follows the recent sequence of sharp daily changes.
