FBISE HSSC 2026 Results Announced, Girls Lead Top Positions

The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education announced its Higher Secondary School Certificate first annual examination results for 2026 on Wednesday, bringing the wait to an end for students in grades 11 and 12 across affiliated institutions. The results cover candidates from medical, pre-engineering, science general, commerce and humanities groups, with female students securing a majority of the leading positions.

Official figures show a clear difference in performance between the two levels. The pass rate for HSSC-I, covering first-year students, stood at 65.31 per cent, while HSSC-II candidates recorded an 85.95 per cent pass rate. More than 211,000 candidates were registered across the two stages, making the announcement one of the year's major academic results for students studying under the federal board system.

Girls secured 11 of the 15 leading positions across the five groups. In the medical group, Amara Azhar topped the results with 1,079 marks, followed by Muhammad Jahanzeb with 1,078 and Syeda Iman Fatima with 1,076. Rameen Arjumand led the pre-engineering group with 1,075 marks, while Zainab Sami and Ansa Fatima were among the other highest-scoring candidates in that category.

The science general group was topped by Abdullah Azhar with 1,063 marks. In commerce, Aqsa Farooq secured first position with 1,051 marks, while Aiza Afzal finished second and Amna Asif took third place. Iman Fatima led the humanities group with 1,007 marks, followed by Amna Azhar, while Raja Yahya bin Fazil and Umair Raza shared third position.

The results were formally declared during a ceremony at the federal board's auditorium in Islamabad. Federal Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui attended the event alongside senior education officials and congratulated successful students. He emphasised that young people should combine formal education with practical skills and said talented Pakistani students had the potential to contribute significantly to national development.

Board Chairman Dr Ikram Ali Malik briefed participants on the examination process and praised the position holders. Officials also highlighted measures aimed at maintaining transparency in examinations, inspections, marking and the selection of examiners. Only a small number of cheating cases were reported during the annual examinations, according to information released with the results.

Students can now obtain their individual results through the official federal board results portal. The board has also made an SMS service available by allowing candidates to send "FB" followed by their roll number to 5050. A telephone inquiry facility is also available for candidates who need assistance accessing their examination record.

The announcement now shifts attention toward admissions and the next academic stage for thousands of successful candidates. Students who have completed HSSC-II will move toward university and professional programme applications, while HSSC-I candidates will use their results to assess their preparation for the final year. The strong showing by female candidates across multiple groups is also likely to draw attention as institutions review this year's academic performance and prepare for the next examination cycle.
