Two Terrorists Killed in Fresh Balochistan IBO

Security forces killed two terrorists and injured three others during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Killi Zaik area on Monday, August 17, according to security sources. The operation was conducted near Baseema after intelligence indicated the presence of armed militants in the area.

Sources said the action took place between Killi Zaik and Kaghli, roughly 12 kilometres north of the Baseema camp. Security personnel moved into the area after receiving information about suspected terrorist movement and engaged the militants during the operation.

An exchange of fire followed between the security forces and the suspects, resulting in the deaths of two terrorists while three others were injured. One of the dead was identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, also known by the alias Koh e Yar, security sources said.

Officials said the forces recovered ammunition, magazines, hand grenades and material used in the preparation of improvised explosive devices from the militants’ possession. The recovery suggested that the group may have been preparing or supporting future attacks in the region.

Security sources reaffirmed that counterterrorism actions would continue without interruption until militant networks are dismantled and durable peace is restored in Balochistan. The statement underlined the official position that intelligence-led operations remain central to the security strategy in the province.

The latest action comes amid repeated security operations in Balochistan, where militant activity has posed a continuing challenge for law enforcement agencies, local communities and development projects. The province’s vast terrain, remote settlements and difficult routes often make counterterrorism operations complex and time-sensitive.

Earlier, security forces had conducted another intelligence-based operation in the Lajay area of Kharan district under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3. In that operation, seven terrorists linked to Fitna al-Khawarij were reportedly killed, while several others were injured, according to security sources.

For Pakistan, the development is significant because Balochistan’s security environment directly affects public safety, regional connectivity, trade routes and confidence in state-led development initiatives. Repeated attacks and militant activity can disrupt daily life, threaten infrastructure and place additional pressure on security institutions.

The next phase will likely involve continued sanitisation, intelligence gathering and monitoring of suspected militant movement around Baseema and nearby areas. Authorities are expected to maintain pressure on remaining networks as part of the wider effort to prevent future attacks and strengthen stability in Balochistan.
