Bilawal Sets AJK Election Rally Schedule as PPP Campaign Gathers Pace

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is set to begin a series of public rallies from July 17 as the party moves into campaign mode for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir election. The schedule, announced on Sunday, lays out a week-long political push across major constituencies and divisions of the region.

According to the party’s announced plan, Bilawal will launch the campaign from LA-01 Dadyal in the Mirpur Division on July 17. The opening gathering will be hosted by Chaudhry Afsar Shahid and is expected to serve as the PPP’s first major show of strength in the final stretch of election activity.

The campaign will then move to Kotli on July 19, where Bilawal is scheduled to address another public meeting hosted by PPP AJK President Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen. Several party candidates from the area, including Javed Iqbal Budhanvi, Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq, Malik Zafar Iqbal and Chaudhry Waleed Inqalabi, are expected to take part in the event.

The PPP chairman will continue his campaign in Muzaffarabad on July 21, with acting AJK President Chaudhry Latif Akbar hosting the public meeting. Candidates from the Muzaffarabad Division, including Mian Abdul Waheed, Sardar Javed Ayub, Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi, Sardar Mukhtar Khan, Chaudhry Ashfaq Zafar, Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai and Mubashir Munir Awan, are also listed among participants.

The party’s official schedule shows that the campaign will conclude with a major rally in Mirpur on July 24. That event will be hosted by Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, where PPP candidates Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf, Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Sohaib Arshad and Khizar Rehman are expected to welcome Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The announcement signals an organised effort by the PPP to coordinate its candidates under a central campaign message before voters head to the polls. By placing Bilawal at the centre of rallies in Dadyal, Kotli, Muzaffarabad and Mirpur, the party appears focused on energising its support base and improving visibility across politically important constituencies.

AJK election campaigns often carry both local and national political weight. While voters focus on constituency-level concerns such as infrastructure, jobs, public services and development funds, parties also use the campaign to project their national positions on Kashmir, governance and federal support for the region.

For the PPP, Bilawal’s rallies are also linked to the party’s long-standing political identity in Kashmir-related politics. The party has historically presented itself as a vocal platform on the Kashmir issue, and its leadership frequently connects regional representation with broader questions of rights, diplomacy and democratic participation.

The campaign schedule may influence the tone of the wider electoral contest as rival parties are also expected to intensify their activities. Large gatherings in key divisions can shape public momentum, test local organisation and reveal how effectively each party is converting its candidate networks into voter mobilisation.

The coming days will show how the PPP frames its message through Bilawal’s speeches and how local candidates use the rallies to consolidate support. Security arrangements, crowd management and constituency-level coordination will remain important as the party moves through its planned campaign route from July 17 to July 24.
