PSX surges as hopes rise for near-term regional de-escalation
The Pakistan Stock Exchange staged a sharp recovery as investors responded to signs that the conflict involving Iran could move toward de-escalation, helping lift sentiment across regional and global markets.
Geo News reported that the benchmark KSE-100 index jumped 7,719.98 points, or 5.19%, to 156,463.29 points. Trading was temporarily suspended after the KSE-30 index remained above the 5% threshold for five consecutive minutes, triggering the market’s automatic halt mechanism before activity resumed later in the session.
Market analysts said improved expectations around diplomacy, combined with stronger investor appetite for undervalued assets, drove the rally. They also pointed to optimism over remittances, foreign exchange reserves and Pakistan’s role in securing crude supplies as supporting factors behind the bullish turn.
