Pakistan and China push urgent Iran war talks
Pakistan and China have jointly called on the United States, Israel and Iran to immediately halt hostilities and move toward peace talks. The appeal followed a high-level meeting in Beijing between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Both sides warned against further escalation and said the conflict must not be allowed to spread. They also urged protection for civilians, non-military sites and critical infrastructure, including energy facilities and peaceful nuclear installations, while calling for humanitarian access to affected areas.
Islamabad and Beijing further stressed the importance of restoring safe civilian and commercial passage through the Strait of Hormuz, describing dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable route to a durable settlement. Related official account: https://x.com/ForeignOfficePk
