Mushahid, ex-Israeli general spar on 'Greater Israel' agenda

Senator Mushahid Hussain and former Israeli national security adviser Yaakov Amidror engaged in a sharp televised exchange over the regional fallout of the Iran war and the broader political direction of the Middle East.

Mushahid argued that Iran had withstood sustained pressure and retained strategic leverage, especially through the Strait of Hormuz. He said the conflict reflected a wider project to politically reshape the region and maintained that Washington and Tel Aviv had failed to achieve their objectives.

Amidror defended Israel's military campaign and said its defensive systems were performing effectively. During the discussion, he also acknowledged that many interceptions had relied on higher-tier systems rather than Iron Dome alone.
