Pakistan announces Eid bank holiday schedule
Pakistan’s central bank has issued the holiday schedule for Eid ul Fitr and Pakistan Day 2026, setting out a four-day closure for banks and financial institutions across the country. The arrangement covers the State Bank, commercial banks, the stock exchange, the SECP and other related institutions.
Under the announced schedule, March 20 and 21 will be observed as Eid holidays, followed by the regular weekly off on March 22 and the Pakistan Day holiday on March 23. Financial institutions are expected to resume normal operations on March 24.
The schedule is intended to give businesses and the public time to plan financial activity ahead of the holiday period. It also aligns the broader financial system around a single operational timetable during one of the busiest festive breaks of the year.
