Dunya News reported that NADRA cited the NADRA Ordinance and related regulations as the basis for the legal standing of digital identity documents. The authority said accepting digital cards can reduce unnecessary photocopying, improve convenience for the public and help protect citizens’ personal data from misuse.
NADRA also instructed government departments, financial institutions, public bodies and telecom operators to comply with the rules. Citizens facing non-compliance were advised to file complaints through the authority’s grievance system.
