Punjab has replaced its older yellow-paper e-stamp model with a new digital process that allows citizens to generate and print e-stamp papers themselves on plain paper.
According to the report, the Punjab Land Records Authority implemented the system from March 10 as part of a wider push to simplify public services and improve transparency. Under the previous setup, lower-value papers were often issued through vendors, while higher-value documents were available mainly through designated banks.
The updated method allows users to pay the required fee through a mobile application and print the document through the official online portal. Officials said the change is intended to cut extra service charges, reduce the need for bank visits, and make the process easier for the public, while vendors will still be allowed to issue papers up to Rs. 300.
