Karachi police have announced a detailed traffic management plan for the main Youm-e-Ali procession scheduled for March 11, when the 21st of Ramadan is observed to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (RA). The procession will begin at 1pm from Nishtar Park, pass through its traditional route and conclude at Imambargah Hussainia Iranian in Kharadar.
Authorities said MA Jinnah Road will remain closed to regular traffic from Guru Mandir to Tower, while Corridor Three from Saddar Dawakhana to Regal will also stay shut. Vehicles from District Central, Liaquatabad and other busy corridors will be diverted to alternate routes including Lasbela, Garden, New MA Jinnah Road, Jail Flyover, Teen Hatti and Nishtar Road. Police said personnel will remain deployed at diversion points to guide commuters throughout the day.
