13 militants killed in coordinated KP counterterror raids

Pakistan's security forces said they killed 13 militants in five intelligence-based operations carried out in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the night of March 6 and 7. The military's media wing said the operations took place in Bajaur, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber and South Waziristan.

According to the official account, five militants were killed in Bajaur, three in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan, and another five in Khyber and South Waziristan. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered, and authorities described the dead as Indian-backed militants involved in previous attacks.

The military said follow-up clearance activity was continuing in the affected areas to trace any remaining fighters. It added that the wider counterterrorism push would continue under the state's ongoing security campaign, as Pakistan remains focused on containing militant threats along the western frontier.
