The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has carried out a mock auction session as part of its final preparations for the country’s upcoming 5G spectrum sale scheduled for March 10.

Qualified telecom operators Jazz, Zong, and Telenor Pakistan joined the online exercise to test the bidding system and software that will be used during the auction. PTA said the session was meant to ensure that the process runs smoothly when the actual sale begins.

NERA Economic Consulting, the international adviser assisting the regulator, briefed participants on auction procedures, bidding mechanics, and technical arrangements. The regulator sees the spectrum sale as a key step toward launching commercial 5G services and expanding advanced digital connectivity in Pakistan.
