The Pakistan Super League announced sweeping reforms for its 11th edition, confirming a move from the traditional player draft to a player auction system as part of broader structural changes.
According to the league’s statement, franchises will be allowed to retain up to four players, limited to one per category, replacing the previous retention framework. The rules tied to mentors, brand ambassadors and the right-to-match option have been discontinued for PSL 11.
The league also introduced a provision allowing each franchise one direct signing of a foreign player who did not feature in the previous season, aimed at bringing in fresh international talent.
PSL said the player salary purse has been increased to $1.6 million per franchise. It also confirmed the tournament will begin on March 26, 2026, and that Faisalabad has been added as an additional venue. The league said more details on the auction process and scheduling will be shared later.
