FIFA has named TikTok its “Preferred Platform” as part of a major partnership aimed at expanding the digital experience around the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Under the arrangement, TikTok will serve as a central hub for tournament-related content throughout 2026, focusing on behind-the-scenes material, interactive fan engagement and community-led football storytelling—alongside traditional match broadcasts.

The platform is expected to host a dedicated World Cup space built around TikTok’s GamePlan experience, where users can discover content tied to the expanded 48-team tournament and find practical information such as ticketing and viewing options.

FIFA and TikTok also plan to run a structured global creator programme, offering selected creators access to moments typically reserved for rights-holders, including training sessions and press conferences.

FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said the initiative is designed to reach fans in new ways, while TikTok’s content leadership described the partnership as a push to connect audiences to exclusive content and expanded creator access.
