The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named a third qualified bidder for the auction of two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises as the league prepares to expand ahead of its 11th season.
In a statement shared via its official social media accounts, the PCB said VGO TEL Mobile has been confirmed as the third qualified bidder. The franchise auction is scheduled to be held on Thursday at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, while the upcoming PSL season is set to run from March 26 to May 3.
The PCB is moving from a six-team structure to an eight-team tournament and says it has been conducting technical evaluations of proposals submitted by interested parties.
The board also highlighted that the Tareen Group—led by businessman Ali Khan Tareen, a former owner of Multan Sultans—is among the confirmed bidders. Tareen bought the franchise in 2018, oversaw a title win in 2021 and reached multiple finals, before relations with the PCB deteriorated over renewal terms and governance disagreements. He announced his departure in late 2025, which became effective at the end of the year.
The PCB added that successful bidders will later be able to choose a home city from an approved list that includes Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad and Gilgit.
