DUBAI: The International League T20 (ILT20) launched its fourth season at Dubai International Stadium with a packed crowd, a fireworks-heavy ceremony and stadium lighting in the colours of the UAE flag to mark National Day.
Pakistani singer Ali Zafar headlined the show with a high-energy medley before the venue’s ‘Ring of Fire’ lit up, drawing loud cheers from fans. Outside, organisers rolled out a ‘Crickmas Wonderland’ to tie the league’s opening week to the holiday season.
This year features strong Pakistani interest, with the likes of Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman and Hassan Nawaz spread across franchises. Vipers captain Lockie Ferguson said Naseem’s 150kph pace could be a decisive factor in the competition.
With the schedule shifted into a December–January window ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup, organisers expect bigger crowds and TV reach. Matches are being broadcast live in Pakistan on Geo Super.
