Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi underwent a cardiac procedure in which doctors placed two stents to address arterial blockages, according to his family and hospital sources.
His condition was described as stable, and physicians advised complete rest while monitoring continues. Party colleague Miftah Ismail said in a post that Abbasi is recovering well and thanked well-wishers for their concern.
Abbasi served as Pakistan's 18th prime minister from 2017 to 2018 and later launched his own party after parting ways with the PML-N in 2023.
