Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is set to administer the oath to a 13-member team—10 ministers, two advisers and a special assistant—at the Governor’s House in Peshawar at 3pm today. The lineup includes Meena Khan, Fazal Shakoor, Faisal Turkai, Aaqibullah, Arshad Ayub Khan, Aftab Alam, Dr Amjad, Khaliq-ur-Rehman, Riaz Khan and Syed Fakhar Jehan as ministers, with Muzzammil Aslam and Taj Muhammad Tarand as advisers and Shafeeullah Jan as special assistant.
The move follows Afridi’s election earlier this month to replace Ali Amin Gandapur. Authorities have repeatedly declined Afridi’s requests to meet PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail despite a court order—a development the CM has argued complicates consultations on government formation.
Afridi told Geo News he has begun briefings on provincial affairs and aims to keep the cabinet lean. He said effective governance is driven by intent and public service rather than years of experience, and that additional appointments may follow in a second phase if needed.
