Army chief vows action against Indian proxies in Balochistan

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir told participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at General Headquarters that security forces are pursuing India-backed proxies and violent outfits he described as Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij. He said all necessary steps are being taken to uproot groups that propagate anti-people and anti-development agendas in the province.

Calling Balochistan the pride of Pakistan, Munir highlighted federal and provincial initiatives to lift the province’s socio-economic outlook through a people-centric approach. He stressed the importance of youth empowerment and the constructive role of civil society in thwarting vested interests and ensuring long-term stability.

The army chief reiterated that while Pakistan seeks regional peace, any violation of the country’s territorial integrity — direct or indirect — would draw a firm response. The session concluded with a candid question-and-answer exchange. Recent security reporting shows Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bear the bulk of nationwide violence, underlining the stakes of ongoing operations.
