Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar told the National Assembly that the 20-point Gaza proposal unveiled by US President Donald Trump does not reflect the framework prepared by Muslim countries, including Pakistan. He said revisions were made to the Muslim bloc’s draft during consultations, and the version circulated by Washington is therefore not the same document.
Dar lamented that international platforms, including the United Nations, have failed to stop the bloodshed in Gaza, describing the enclave as a test of the world’s conscience. He reiterated Pakistan’s call for an immediate ceasefire and a just, durable solution that safeguards Palestinian rights. He added that the government would continue diplomatic engagement with partners to press for an end to hostilities and for unhindered humanitarian access.
The foreign minister stressed that Pakistan’s position remains anchored in international law and long-standing UN resolutions. He signalled that parliamentary oversight of the evolving peace proposals would continue as updated texts are received from mediators and capitals.
