At UN, Pakistan labels India a ‘serial perpetrator of terrorism’

Pakistan condemned India’s remarks at the UN General Assembly, saying attempts to twist Pakistan’s name and label it “Terroristan” were undignified and petty. In a pointed right of reply, diplomat Muhammad Rashid said such mockery diminishes India’s credibility and shows it lacks substantive arguments. Rashid accused India of sponsoring terrorism beyond its borders through networks run by intelligence operatives, alleging financing and direction of groups engaged in sabotage and targeted killings. He said this behaviour undermines regional stability and violates international law, branding India a serial perpetrator of terrorism and a regional bully. Responding to comments by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, the Pakistani statement said Islamabad has sacrificed tens of thousands of lives in fighting militancy and remains committed to peace through dialogue. It urged the international community to evaluate claims on evidence and to discourage rhetoric that inflames tensions. The address also referenced human rights concerns in Indian-administered Kashmir and criticised efforts to pin blame on Pakistan for incidents without credible investigations. Pakistan reiterated that it reserves the right to self-defence under the UN Charter while continuing to advocate stability and prosperity for South Asia.
