“Gold fell by Rs3,600 to Rs435,436 per tola in Pakistan, while the 10-gram rate declined by Rs3,086 to Rs373,316.”
Key points
- Gold fell by Rs3,600 to Rs435,436 per tola in Pakistan, while the 10-gram rate declined by Rs3,086 to Rs373,316.
- International gold dropped by $36 to $4,129 per ounce, whereas local silver remained unchanged.
Gold prices declined sharply in Pakistan on Tuesday, with the benchmark rate falling by Rs3,600 per tola as the domestic bullion market followed a downward movement in international prices. The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association placed the revised price of one tola of gold at Rs435,436.
The decrease brought an end to the stability recorded a day earlier. Gold had remained unchanged at Rs439,036 per tola on Monday, meaning Tuesday’s adjustment represented a notable single-session reduction for buyers, jewellers and other participants monitoring the local precious-metals market.
The price of 10 grams of gold also moved lower by Rs3,086, settling at Rs373,316. Both commonly reported domestic benchmarks therefore registered declines of a similar proportion, reflecting a uniform adjustment in the rates circulated for Pakistan’s bullion market.
The local decline corresponded with losses in the international market, where gold dropped by $36 to $4,129 per ounce. The figures indicate that Tuesday’s Pakistani rates were adjusted in the same direction as the global benchmark rather than moving independently from the international trend.
Silver did not follow gold’s downward movement during the latest update. Its domestic price remained unchanged at Rs6,234 per tola, creating a contrast between the two major precious metals tracked in Pakistan and showing that the day’s reduction was concentrated in gold.
The revised gold rate gives consumers and businesses a lower reference price than the level recorded on Monday. Although the per-tola decrease was larger in rupee terms than the change in the 10-gram rate, both adjustments represent the same broader shift across the standard units used to report gold prices in the country.
Tuesday’s figures provide the latest benchmark rather than a forecast for future trading. Subsequent domestic rates will show whether the decline continues, stabilises or reverses as international gold prices change and the association issues its next market update.
