Police have opened multiple investigations after two unidentified bodies were recovered in Pasni and separate shooting incidents in Quetta and Panjgur left one person dead and three others injured. Authorities also announced the arrest of a principal suspect in the killing of businessman Hashim Noorzai.
The two bodies were discovered in Pasni’s Chakli area. Police took custody of the remains and transported them to a hospital, where the required legal procedures were completed. The bodies were subsequently placed in the hospital mortuary while officials worked to establish the victims’ identities.
In Quetta, armed assailants shot and killed Abdul Zahir on Qambrani Road. Police said the victim, a local resident and the son of Faiz Muhammad, was purchasing groceries from a shop when unidentified attackers opened fire and fled the area. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Officers transferred Abdul Zahir’s body to a hospital for medico-legal examination before handing it over to his family. A case was registered at Kachi Baig police station, while responsibility for the investigation was transferred to the Serious Crime Investigation Wing. The attackers’ identities and the motive for the killing were not immediately established.
Another shooting was reported near Star Chowk in the Tassap area of Panjgur. Gunmen targeted a vehicle carrying three people and escaped after opening fire. All three occupants were injured and taken to a hospital. Police had not immediately disclosed the severity of their injuries or determined why the vehicle was attacked.
Separately, police arrested Saadullah Noorzai, identified as the principal suspect in businessman Hashim Noorzai’s murder. Investigators said they recovered a rifle, a 9mm pistol and a vehicle allegedly used in the crime. The seizure may help authorities reconstruct the attack and determine whether other individuals were involved.
The incidents have prompted parallel inquiries across the province. Investigators must now identify the bodies recovered in Pasni, trace the gunmen responsible for the Quetta and Panjgur shootings, and examine the weapons and vehicle seized from the murder suspect. No immediate connection between the separate cases has been established.
