Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza said Pakistan would respond strongly to any hostile miscalculation, while addressing the passing-out parade of cadets at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul.
General Raza told the graduating cadets that there was no space for conflict or war in a nuclearised environment. He said any miscalculation by an initiator would draw a response beyond its expectations.
He said the armed forces were prepared to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and borders. The commander also urged the cadets to remain committed to their professional responsibilities as they begin their military careers.
The remarks came a day after India’s defence minister made comments about the prospect of a larger strike following any future militant attack. Pakistan’s Foreign Office had condemned those remarks as provocative and said the country remained prepared to defend its sovereignty.
In his address, General Raza also spoke about what he described as efforts to use disinformation and narrative warfare to create divisions between the public and the armed forces. He said hostile elements sought to exploit internal vulnerabilities and undermine national cohesion.
The ceremony marked the graduation of cadets from the 154th Pakistan Military Academy Long Course, the 39th Technical Graduate Course, the 73rd Integrated Course and the 28th Lady Cadet Course. General Raza attended as the chief guest.
The latest statements underline Pakistan’s official position that it seeks peace but considers national security and territorial integrity non-negotiable. No new military measure or operational decision was announced with the address.
