Malir Police have formed an investigation team to examine the deaths of five people whose bodies were found at a house in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Karachi. The inquiry will focus on forensic evidence, personal relationships connected to Shahzaib, and the purchase of the property, according to initial details released by police.

The team will include the DSP for Bin Qasim, the DSP for Malir City, an information-technology in-charge and two station house officers. Police said a formal notification for the investigation team would be issued shortly. The officers have been tasked with examining the available evidence and pursuing the lines of inquiry identified at the outset of the case.

Investigators said they would examine the fact that Shahzaib used his left hand to write. Police have not stated what conclusion, if any, can be drawn from that detail. It is being considered as one part of the wider inquiry into the deaths.

Police will also record statements from Shahzaib’s close friends. Investigators plan to examine why some friends had recently ended their relationships with him. The inquiry will assess those accounts alongside other material gathered in the case rather than treating them as a final finding.

Mobile phones and a pistol recovered from the house are to be sent for forensic examination. Police said the examinations will be used to help establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Samples will also be forwarded for analysis once the initial medical report is received on Thursday.

The investigation will include a review of when Shahzaib bought the house and from whom it was purchased. Officials will also examine footage recorded by police when they arrived at the property. These records are among the materials investigators intend to assess during the inquiry.

Further findings are expected after forensic work is completed and statements are recorded from people connected to the deceased. Police have not announced a conclusion about the cause or circumstances of the deaths, and the investigation remains in progress.
