Police in Bara, Khyber district, have arrested more than 50 people during a crackdown linked to recent violent incidents in the area. The arrests were made after authorities moved against individuals allegedly involved in rioting and unrest in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa locality.

Officials said four cases had been registered under the Anti-Terrorism Act in connection with the violence. The use of terrorism-related provisions shows that authorities are treating the incidents as a serious law-and-order matter rather than a routine disturbance.

According to police officials, further raids were planned to continue on Tuesday night as part of efforts to detain other suspects. The operation is expected to remain active until all those allegedly involved in the incidents are taken into custody.

The Capital City Police Peshawar also responded to reports circulating about the alleged abduction of a police officer in Bara. In a formal clarification, police rejected those reports and said the situation in the area was under control.

Authorities said some elements had attempted to create unrest, but warned that any attempt to disturb peace would be dealt with under the law. Citizens were also urged not to believe or spread unverified rumours, especially during an active security operation.

The crackdown comes at a sensitive time for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security and political tensions have kept law-enforcement agencies on alert. Developments in Bara are likely to remain under close watch as police continue raids, complete investigations, and prepare legal proceedings in the registered cases.
