Rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are forecast across several parts of Pakistan over the next 24 hours, with heavier rainfall possible in some districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The changing weather conditions are expected to affect Islamabad, Kashmir and a wide belt of central and northern areas.

Heavy rain is possible in Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khushab and Mianwali, while showers and thunderstorms are also expected in Attock, Bahawalnagar, Chakwal, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Gujrat. Residents in these areas could experience short periods of intense rainfall accompanied by gusty winds.

Other Punjab districts, including Sargodha, Hafizabad, Jhang, Jhelum and Lahore, may also receive rain during the forecast period. Conditions are expected to vary between locations, with some areas seeing isolated showers while others could experience stronger thunderstorms.

Rainfall is also expected over the upper catchment areas of the Ravi and Sutlej rivers. Strong winds and thunderstorms may accompany the system, with heavier rainfall possible at isolated locations. Weather developments in river catchments are closely watched because intense precipitation can influence local water flows and low-lying areas.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavier rainfall is forecast at some places in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Karak, Lakki Marwat and Tank. These districts could experience thunderstorms and strong winds as the weather system moves across parts of the province. Some areas of Gilgit-Baltistan are also likely to receive rain.

Conditions are expected to remain different in southern Pakistan. Most parts of Sindh and Balochistan are forecast to stay hot and dry, while southern and plain areas of the country may continue to experience hot and humid weather despite rainfall further north.

The forecast comes as changing seasonal conditions continue to produce localised thunderstorms across upper and central Pakistan. Sudden heavy showers can temporarily disrupt road travel, reduce visibility and cause water accumulation in poorly drained urban areas, making continued monitoring of local weather conditions important.

Rain and thunderstorms may continue at selected locations in upper and central regions during the coming period. Residents in areas expecting heavier rainfall should follow official weather updates as conditions can change quickly depending on the movement and intensity of local storm systems.
