Pakistan Gold Price Jumps Rs5,700 to Rs482,936 Per Tola

Gold prices in Pakistan recorded another sharp increase on Saturday, with the price of 24-karat gold climbing by Rs5,700 per tola to Rs482,936. The latest rates were issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association and extend a strong run of gains in the domestic bullion market, making gold prices a closely watched development for buyers, jewellers and investors across the country.

The increase was also reflected in smaller weight categories commonly used by consumers and jewellery businesses. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold rose by Rs4,972 to Rs414,039, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold increased by Rs4,558 to Rs379,549. The across-the-board movement means consumers purchasing jewellery or bullion are facing significantly higher prices than earlier in the week.

Saturday's jump came alongside a strong increase in the international bullion market. Gold rose by $57 to $4,604 per ounce internationally, according to the association. The parallel rise in domestic and global prices highlights the continuing strength in bullion markets, with Pakistan's local rates moving higher as international gold also advanced.

The latest increase marks a continuation of the upward trend seen over recent sessions. Pakistani bullion prices had already posted substantial gains during the previous two trading days, making Saturday the third consecutive session in which local gold prices moved higher. The sustained rise has pushed the per-tola rate close to the Rs483,000 level, putting renewed attention on the pace of movement in the precious-metals market.

Silver, however, did not follow gold higher. The price of silver remained unchanged at Rs7,379 per tola, while 10 grams of silver stayed at Rs6,326. International silver was also unchanged at $69 per ounce. The contrasting performance shows that Saturday's significant domestic precious-metal movement was concentrated in gold rather than extending across the entire bullion market.

The increase has immediate implications for Pakistan's jewellery market, where gold rates are a key benchmark for retail transactions. Higher bullion prices raise the underlying value of gold used in ornaments and can influence purchasing decisions by households, particularly during periods of wedding-related and other traditional jewellery demand. Investors and savers who hold physical gold are also closely monitoring the rapid changes in market value after several consecutive increases.

Attention will now turn to the next bullion-rate update and movements in the international gold market. Any further gains or reversal in global prices could shape the direction of local rates, while jewellers and consumers will be watching whether the current upward streak continues. With gold now priced at Rs482,936 per tola, the precious metal remains one of the most closely followed market indicators in Pakistan.
