Nine Militants Killed in Fresh Balochistan Security Operations
Security forces carried out fresh intelligence-led actions in Balochistan on Tuesday, killing nine suspected terrorists in two separate operations under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, according to security sources. The actions were reported from areas between Ziarat and Harnai, as well as Hajika village in Surab district, where forces moved after receiving information about militant presence.
The larger operation took place in the mountainous belt between Ziarat and Harnai, a difficult terrain where hideouts can be used to evade routine security checks. Security personnel reportedly surrounded a suspected terrorist position and engaged the occupants, resulting in the killing of eight militants. The hideout was also destroyed during the action, sources said.
A second operation was conducted in Hajika village of Surab district. Security forces established a cordon between Dasht-Katai and Hajika after tracking suspected movement in the area. One more terrorist was killed in that operation, bringing the total number of deaths across the two actions to nine.
Security sources said weapons and operational material were recovered from the slain terrorists. The seized items reportedly included ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, a walkie-talkie, a motorcycle and other equipment believed to have been used for movement and communication. The recovery suggests the suspects were equipped for mobility and possible armed activity in the region.
Officials linked the operations to the wider security campaign underway in Balochistan, saying the forces remain committed to continuing action until terrorism is eliminated and durable peace is restored. The statement reflects the authorities’ position that intelligence-based operations are central to dismantling militant networks before they can regroup or carry out attacks.
The latest actions follow another security operation reported a day earlier in the Killi Zaik area of Balochistan. In that incident, security sources said two terrorists were killed and three others injured after forces acted on intelligence about militant presence between Killi Zaik and Kaghli, around 12 kilometres north of the Baseema camp.
Balochistan has remained one of Pakistan’s most sensitive security theatres because of its vast geography, remote settlements and rugged mountain corridors. These conditions often make surveillance, policing and rapid response more complex, while militant groups have attempted to exploit the terrain for movement, concealment and attacks on state targets.
