Five Militants Killed in Balochistan Intelligence Operation

Pakistan’s security forces have killed five militants in Balochistan’s Panjgur district during a fresh intelligence-led operation, according to security sources cited by ARY News on Monday. The action was reported from the Sarkini and Chedgi areas, where forces were said to be targeting suspected militant hideouts as part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign in the province.

According to the reported details, the operation was carried out under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, a continuing security drive aimed at dismantling militant networks operating in Balochistan. Security sources said the five men killed in the action were linked to the group described by officials as Fitna al Hindustan.

Among those killed was Wazir Waleed Jamal, identified by security sources as an important commander associated with the militant network. Officials said the operation was based on intelligence regarding the presence of armed suspects in the area, leading to a targeted response by the security forces.

Security sources also stated that four motorcycles, machine guns, and a large cache of arms and ammunition were recovered from the site. They said a clearance operation was continuing in the area to ensure that no remaining militant elements were left behind after the encounter.

The latest development comes as Balochistan remains a major focus of Pakistan’s counterterrorism operations. Security agencies have repeatedly said that militant groups in the province are involved in attacks on civilians, security personnel, infrastructure, and strategic routes, making intelligence-based operations central to the state’s security response.

Balochistan’s difficult terrain, scattered settlements, and porous routes have long complicated security operations. Militants often exploit remote areas to regroup, move weapons, and plan attacks, while law enforcement and military units rely heavily on intelligence coordination to identify and disrupt such networks before they can strike.

The report also recalled an earlier July 30 operation in Khuzdar, where security forces killed four militants linked to the same network and destroyed two explosive-laden vehicles. That operation was described as a major preventive action because the vehicles were allegedly configured for possible use as vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices.

For Pakistan, such operations carry both security and political significance. A sustained militant threat in Balochistan affects public safety, investor confidence, transportation routes, and development projects, particularly in areas where the state is trying to expand connectivity and economic activity.

Authorities are expected to continue combing the affected parts of Panjgur and nearby areas as investigators assess recovered weapons and possible links to wider militant cells. The next phase will likely focus on identifying facilitators, supply routes, and any remaining operatives connected to the group.
