Punjab YPP 2026 Offers Rs150,000 Monthly Stipend
LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced application criteria for the Young Professionals Program 2026, a government-backed training initiative offering selected graduates a monthly stipend of Rs150,000 for one year. The programme, run through the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority under the provincial finance department, is aimed at bringing young talent into the public-private partnership ecosystem.
The initiative is being positioned as a high-value opportunity for fresh graduates who want structured exposure to policy, project development, finance, technology and public-sector delivery. Under the scheme, successful applicants will be placed in a professional environment where they can work with experienced officials and specialists on active projects rather than classroom-style training alone.
According to the announced criteria, applicants must be Pakistani citizens, must not be older than 25 years, and must hold a 16-year degree from a Higher Education Commission-recognised institution or a reputable international university. The minimum academic requirement has been set at a CGPA of 3.3, making the programme highly competitive for recent graduates.
The authority has also outlined the fields from which candidates may apply. Eligible disciplines include finance, accounting, project management, business administration, artificial intelligence, law, engineering, information technology, computer science, management information systems, data analytics, economics, media studies, public policy, social sciences and natural sciences.
Officials have made clear that the Young Professionals Program is a one-year training opportunity and should not be treated as a permanent job, contract appointment or guarantee of future employment. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a test and interview, while no travel or daily allowance will be provided for appearing in the selection process.
The number of available seats remains limited, with the authority intending to select up to 15 young professionals. However, the Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority has reserved the right to increase or reduce the number of positions depending on administrative requirements, merit considerations and programme needs.
The programme comes at a time when young graduates across Pakistan are facing intense competition for limited entry-level roles, particularly in public policy, technology, finance and development-related sectors. A stipend of Rs150,000 per month places the scheme well above many starting salaries, which is likely to make it attractive for high-performing graduates looking for credible early-career exposure.
For Punjab, the initiative also reflects a broader attempt to improve the capacity of institutions handling infrastructure, development and public-private projects. By drawing graduates from technical, financial and policy backgrounds, the province appears to be building a pipeline of young professionals who can understand both government procedures and private-sector project models.
Interested applicants have been directed to download the application form from the official Punjab Public Private Partnership Authority jobs portal. Completed forms, along with educational degrees, verified transcripts, CNIC, recent passport-size photographs, experience certificates if available, and an updated CV, must be submitted by July 22.
The next stage will depend on scrutiny of applications, shortlisting and the testing process. With limited seats and a relatively high stipend, the scheme is expected to draw strong interest from graduates across Punjab and other eligible Pakistani applicants seeking a structured entry into public-sector-linked professional work.
