Pakistan Hockey Camp Restarts Ahead of Europe Pro League Tour
Pakistan’s national hockey team is set to restart its training camp on Monday after the Eid-ul-Adha break, as preparations enter an important phase ahead of the squad’s Pro Hockey League commitments in Europe. The development was reported on Saturday, with team officials directing players to return to camp before formal practice resumes.
The players had been allowed to travel back to their hometowns during the Eid holidays to spend time with their families. With the break now ending, squad members have been instructed to report to the team management by Sunday evening so that the coaching staff can resume full training activity from Monday morning.
According to team officials, the camp will focus on sharpening Pakistan’s match readiness before the national side leaves for Europe. The schedule is particularly important because the upcoming tour will place Pakistan against strong international opponents, giving the team a serious test of its fitness, structure and tactical discipline.
Senior team official Manzoor-ul-Hasan said formal training would begin on Monday morning. His remarks indicate that the coaching setup wants to move quickly from holiday recovery to competitive preparation, with limited time available before the squad’s departure.
A total of 28 players are expected to take part in the camp. The squad will undergo two practice sessions each day under the supervision of the coaching staff, allowing trainers to work on stamina, combinations, defensive organisation, attacking movement and penalty-corner execution.
Pakistan are scheduled to leave for Europe on June 9 for their Pro Hockey League assignments. The first phase of the tour will take the team to Belgium, where Pakistan are expected to play four matches against Belgium and Spain, both of whom are regarded as technically strong and well-organised hockey sides.
In the second phase, the national team will travel to England for four additional fixtures against India and the host nation. Matches against India traditionally attract major attention from fans, while games against England will also offer Pakistan an opportunity to measure its progress against a fast-paced and physically demanding opponent.
