Two Killed in Hafizabad as Official Vehicle Hits Pedestrians
Two people were killed in Hafizabad on Wednesday after a vehicle linked to a Regional Transport Authority official struck pedestrians near the Karyala area, according to police cited in the report.
The incident immediately drew attention because the vehicle was described as an official government vehicle belonging to Regional Transport Authority Secretary Sohail Adil. Police said both victims died at the scene after being hit by the vehicle.
Initial police information indicated that the crash occurred when the official vehicle hit the pedestrians in the district’s Karyala locality. Rescue and law-enforcement personnel were called to the area after the accident, while the bodies were handled for legal and procedural formalities.
Police later took Sohail Adil into custody and registered a case in connection with the incident. A deputy superintendent of police said the transport official was personally driving the vehicle when the collision took place.
