Eyman Fatima Powers Pakistan to Series-Clinching T20 Win

Pakistan’s women’s cricket team secured the T20 series against Zimbabwe in Karachi after a commanding 67-run win in the second match at the National Bank Stadium. The result gave the hosts an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match contest and placed young batter Eyman Fatima at the centre of the day’s biggest sporting headline.

Asked to bat first, Pakistan did not begin with complete control. The top order lost early momentum as Gull Feroza was dismissed cheaply and Ayesha Zafar was run out, leaving the innings under pressure before the halfway stage. Their unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 78 runs pushed Pakistan to 170 for four, a total that placed Zimbabwe under immediate scoreboard pressure. The performance also highlighted Pakistan’s growing middle-order depth, especially in situations where early wickets threaten to slow the innings.

Zimbabwe’s bowling attack had brief moments of success, with Michelle Mavunga, Precious Marange and Lindokuhle Mabhero each taking a wicket. However, the visitors were unable to contain Pakistan in the final overs as Eyman repeatedly found gaps and cleared the boundary with confidence. Her innings became the defining difference between the two sides.

The chase never developed into a serious threat for Pakistan. Captain Fatima Sana struck early, and Pakistan’s spin options then tightened control through the middle overs. Sadia Iqbal and Nashra Sandhu applied pressure with disciplined bowling, while Nashra finished with two wickets to keep Zimbabwe well behind the required rate.

Zimbabwe eventually reached 103 for eight in their 20 overs. Nomvelo Sibanda was the top scorer with an unbeaten 18, while Kudzai Chigora added 14 not out late in the innings, but the visitors lacked the partnerships needed to challenge Pakistan’s target. Regular wickets meant the asking rate kept climbing until the contest moved firmly beyond Zimbabwe’s reach.

For Pakistan, the win is significant beyond the scoreline. It gives the side another confidence-building series result at home and offers encouraging signs about the next generation of batters. Eyman’s aggressive innings, combined with contributions from Muneeba, Natalia and the bowling unit, shows that Pakistan have multiple match-winning options across departments.

With the series already decided, Pakistan will enter the final T20I at the same venue with an opportunity to complete a clean sweep. Zimbabwe, meanwhile, will look for a stronger batting response and more control at the death as both teams prepare for the closing match of the tour.
