Pakistan Successfully Launches Fatah-4 Cruise Missile
Pakistan has successfully conducted a training launch of the indigenously developed Fatah-4 Ground Launched Cruise Missile, marking a fresh development in the country’s conventional defence capability. The launch was carried out on Thursday by the Army Rocket Force Command, according to details reported from Rawalpindi.
The Fatah-4 system is designed to engage long-range targets with high precision. Officials said the missile is equipped with advanced avionics and modern navigational support, allowing it to strengthen accuracy, survivability and operational reliability during deployment.
The training fire was aimed at improving the operational efficiency of troops and validating technical parameters built into different sub-systems. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of the Naval Staff and the Chief of the Air Staff commended the successful training fire. They praised the technical skill, dedication and commitment of the teams that contributed to the F-series missile programme.
The Fatah missile family forms part of Pakistan’s wider effort to strengthen conventional deterrence through precision-strike systems. Indigenous development of such platforms is seen as important for reducing external dependence, improving operational readiness and maintaining credible defensive capacity in a changing regional security environment.
