Rain and thunderstorms to sweep across Pakistan from April 1

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a new spell of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds across much of the country from April 1 to April 4. The weather system is expected to enter southwestern Balochistan first before spreading into other provinces over the following days.

The advisory says Balochistan will be hit first, with rain and isolated hailstorms likely in coastal and inland districts. Punjab, Islamabad and several northern regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms, while Sindh is forecast to come under the influence of the system from April 2 to April 4.

The update comes after deadly rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where at least 17 people, including women and children, lost their lives. Forecasters say temperatures are likely to ease during the spell, but authorities will be watching for localized damage and travel disruption.
