Saudi oil cargo bound for Pakistan crosses Hormuz route

A shipment of Saudi crude is heading to Pakistan after passing through the Strait of Hormuz at a time when vessel movement remains heavily restricted.

The report said seven vessels, including the oil tanker carrying around 650,000 barrels of Saudi crude to Pakistan, exited the Gulf through a narrow northern corridor near Iranian islands. Two LPG carriers and four bulk carriers were also reported on the outbound route.

Traffic through Hormuz remains far below normal levels as electronic interference, switched-off AIS signals and heightened regional tensions reduce visibility for ship tracking. The report added that Iran has allowed more Pakistani-flagged vessels to pass and that lawmakers in Tehran are considering a fee mechanism for ships seeking secure passage through the waterway.
