Pakistan rebuts India's remarks on Shia community

Pakistan's Foreign Office has rejected Indian comments about the condition of the Shia community in Pakistan, describing the remarks as cynical, diversionary and politically motivated.

According to Geo News, Islamabad said New Delhi was attempting to deflect attention from its own domestic record by raising accusations about minority treatment in Pakistan. The response came after India's external affairs ministry referred to statements it said were linked to Pakistan's military leadership.

The Foreign Office said India should focus on protecting minorities within its own borders and stop making what it called unfounded statements about Pakistan. The exchange adds to already strained rhetoric between the two neighbours and reinforces the diplomatic hardening visible in recent official messaging.
