Gold nears Rs500,000 per tola after another sharp jump

Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply again on Wednesday, pushing the local rate close to the half-million-rupee mark per tola. According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of one tola increased by Rs. 15,200 to Rs. 479,262, while 10 grams climbed by Rs. 13,031 to Rs. 410,889.

The latest jump followed another strong increase a day earlier, reflecting sustained momentum in both local and international bullion markets. Traders said the rally continues to mirror heightened uncertainty and stronger global demand for safe-haven assets.

Internationally, gold gained another $152 to reach $4,565 per ounce, with an added premium of $20. Silver also moved higher, rising by Rs. 370 to settle at Rs. 7,824 per tola in the domestic market.
