Pakistan locks in petrol cargoes to steady March-April supplies

Pakistan has secured most of its petrol cargo requirements for March and April, according to a high-level monitoring meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb. Officials reviewed the domestic energy position and the impact of Middle East tensions on oil and gas markets, with the government stressing that uninterrupted fuel availability remains its top priority.

Authorities told the committee that scheduled cargo inflows are continuing and that extra shipments are also being arranged to strengthen reserves. The finance minister said proactive planning, diversified procurement and close coordination had helped Pakistan maintain supply stability despite global volatility.

The review comes after recent disruptions in international supply routes and a sharp jump in fuel prices. Officials said monitoring of international developments, stock levels and logistics will continue so policy responses can be made quickly if market conditions worsen.
