Karachi, Sindh brace for heavy rain as PDMA issues warning

Sindh's Provincial Disaster Management Authority has issued a weather alert for Karachi and multiple other districts as rain and thunderstorms are expected over several days. Officials warned that strong winds and possible hail could damage weak structures and solar panels, while temperatures across the province are likely to fall.

The alert follows a high-level review chaired by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, who directed commissioners and district officials to remain in the field and keep drainage and emergency machinery operational. Local administrations were also told to maintain traffic flow, remove dangerous billboards and complete public awareness measures before the wet spell intensifies.

Residents were advised to avoid unnecessary travel, while tourists and farmers were asked to take extra precautions. The broader forecast also points to wet weather across other parts of Pakistan as a western system moves in.
