PSX slides as oil shock rattles investors

Pakistan's stock market came under pressure on Thursday as a fresh jump in global oil prices unsettled investors and triggered profit-taking. The benchmark KSE-100 index closed at 152,740.37, down 1,551.88 points, or 1.01%.

Market participants linked the decline to attacks on Gulf energy infrastructure that reignited concerns about imported inflation and higher fuel costs for Pakistan. During trading, the index touched an intraday low of 150,728.17, reflecting the intensity of the sell-off.

The session showed how exposed Pakistan's financial markets remain to external energy shocks. With oil prices rising and inflation risks returning, investor sentiment weakened across the board.
